| Thousands of years ago, a race of creatures known as Dark Elves try to send the darkness of the universe through the use of weapons called Aether. Warrior of Asgard stop them, but their leader Malekith out to wait for another chance. The warrior find Aether and because it can not be destroyed, they try to hide it. In the present day, Jane Foster waiting for the return of Thor even though it is two years since their last time a different view. Meanwhile, Thor tried to bring peace to the nine areas. Jane discover an anomaly similar to the one that brought Thor to Earth. He goes to investigate, find a wormhole, and it sucked. Back in Asgard, Thor want to return to the ground, but his father, Odin refuses to let him. Thor learns from Heimdall, who can see all the kingdoms, Jane disappeared.
